The London giants could turn their attention to Andrea Belotti to solve their goalscoring problems. Italy international could be a cheaper option to some of the Gunners’ main targets from Serie A. However, a transfer could be dependent on the futures of Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The Gunners have made some good additions in this summer transfer window as the Spanish manager undertook the rebuilding of his team. Aaron Ramsdale was their latest addition, who joined Martin Odegaard, Ben White, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Nuno Tavares.

Arsenal also tied down exciting playmaker Emile Smith-Rowe to a new deal. There have been uncertainties with a few of the centre-forwards playing at the Emirates Stadium. Lacazette, who has missed the first two PL matches after testing positive for Covid-19, has been linked with a move away from Arsenal.

Alexandre has a year left on his contract, and there are no indications of an extension being offered by the Gunners. While the Spanish tactician likes the 30-year-old striker and wants to keep him around, a move could be possible if a viable proposal comes in.

The likeliest possibility would be for France international to remain because there have been no proposals forthcoming, and he could move on a free next summer. Atletico Madrid came the closest in showing interest in the Frenchman.

The Gunners always knew a move might materialise and have been targeting several high profile footballers as a replacement. The future of striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was also thrown in doubt, but his recent showing with West Brom in the Carabao Cup might have convinced Mikel Arteta to keep him on board.
