Thomas Tuchel admits he ‘didn’t trust’ Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham ‘as much as other’ players last season but has refused to confirm he will be leaving the club this summer.

England international Abraham was left out of multiple Chelsea matchday squads last season, most notably for the Champions League and FA Cup finals.

The 23-year-old, who has been at Stamford Bridge since the age of seven, now looks set to leave Chelsea, with Roma agreeing a £34m deal to sign Abraham.

On Abraham’s potential move to Roma, Tuchel added: ‘I won’t report on whether it’s true it not.

‘He has reason not to be happy after the lack of game time last season but it’s maybe also my fault for not trusting him as much as other players.

‘Does he want to change to be a regular starter elsewhere? That’s completely up to him, but he’s with us and available for the team tomorrow here in Belfast.
