Rodgers has Maddison update, Arsenal given green light to sign Aouar and Sabitzer on the move in top Arsenal news…..

Arsenal target Houssem Aouar appears to still be on the market after Lyon boss Peter Bosz admitted the Frenchman can leave

It is no secret that Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is a massive fan of Aouar and wanted the board to sanction a transfer move either in the summer, or the January window, to get a transfer deal done.

Lyon wanted £55million for his signature in the summer, a fee that was more than what Arsenal paid to release Thomas Partey from his Atletico Madrid deal, and with Covid hitting the club in the inter window, they did not intend to pay that fee in January either.

However, there has been alot of rumours over the past few months that Aouar wants to leave the French club this summer and with his contract running down, reports have claimed that he could be worth just £17 million this summer.

Now, amid the speculation Arsenal have been given the green light to try and get a transfer deal done after Bosz opened up and admitted that the tricky Frenchman can leave this summer if a big offer comes in

“Aouar? He can leave, this is modern football. Up until the last moment, he can leave,” Bosz told French outlet butfootball.fr.

Look, this is the type of player that Arsenal need to be signing in the transfer windows to get back in that hunt for the Premier League title, so if the reports are true and they could get him for a bargain they should make a move.

He will move to a big club, so Arsenal should get a deal done now before they simply cannot afford the lad.

It will be interesting to see how this all plays out, but Arsenal would be massive fools to not even make a move for the player

Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers has told Arsenal that they do not need to sell James Maddison this summer window

With Arsenal already spending over £75million this summer having signed Ben White, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Nuno Tavares, they are still looking to add a bit more quality to that squad this summer

Mikel Arteta knows that he needs to add some proven top-class players to the squad in order to get back into the Champions League places, and Maddison is a player that is high up on the shopping list.

Over the past few season, Maddison has developed into one of the very best and most creative players in the Premier League his performances has led to reports that he should make a move to one of the big clubs

It is believed that they are ready to offer players and a big sum of money to get a deal done, but are said to be unwilling to meet Leicester’s £60million valuation.

Now Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers has insisted that the club are not in a position where they need to sell their best players, He said: “In conversations with the club, we don’t have to sell. That’s something that’s been made clear.

“The players want to stay. It’s a really exciting time at the club.

“There’s lots of gossip and speculation around but I’m loving working with the guys here, they love being here, and we certainly have no need to sell. So I would suspect we’re looking to keep our best players.”

If Arsenal are not willing to pay that big money to get a transfer deal done for Maddison then they should move on as Leicester do not need to sell, like Rodgers has admitted.

He would be a quality signing for the Gunners, but they need to put up or shut up

RB Leipzig midfielder Marcel Sabitzer has told the club that he doesn’t want to extend his contract, alerting the likes of Arsenal

The 24-year-old has been linked with a move away from the Bundesliga club this summer, with numerous clubs from the Premier League linked.

The midfield enforcer has been one of the top performers in Europe across the last couple of years and an impressive European Championship has attracted even more interest, and there is claims that Mikel Arteta would like to add him to the squad.

Arteta knows that he needs to keep improving that squad in the transfer window, and with all the departures of Dani Ceballos and Martin Odegaard, Sabitzer is seen as a player that would be an ideal signing for the Italian

Now reports on Goal have claimed that Sabitzer has opened up and told his current club that he doesnt want to extend his contract with the club

It remains to be seen if a transfer will be arranged this summer, although Leipzig run the risk of losing him on a free transfer in 2022, should they fail to agree a contract extension.

Sabitzer is certainly a player that could make a real impact on this Arsenal side if they did decide to try and get a deal done. But he may feel a move to the Emirates would not give him the game time that he would want.

However, now that there is space in that Arsenal squad for a player like him to make a big impact, a move to the Premier League would give him the chance to test himself at the very highest level of the game.

And for the money that he could go for, he could be seen as a real summer bargain for the Gunners if he leaves this transfer window
