Bundesliga club demand transfer fee of €15-€18m for Arsenal target
RB Leipzig won’t prevent Arsenal-linked Marcel Sabitzer from joining league rivals Bayern Munich if they receive a sum of around €15m to €18m.
The 27-year-old star has entered the final year of his deal with RB Leipzig and doesn’t appear to be willing to put pen to paper on a fresh contract with the Bundesliga side.
With only a little less than 12 months remaining on Sabitzer’s contract, Die Roten Bullen are said to be prepared to cash in on the captain during the ongoing transfer window.
The Gunners and Spurs have been heavily linked with a swoop for the midfielder, while Die Roten are currently working on a summer deal to take him to the Allianz Arena.
And according to German TV channel Sport1, RB Leipzig will not prevent Marcel from joining Bundesliga rivals if they receive a proposal of around €15m to €18m.
They were claimed to be prepared to see out his contract earlier in the transfer market, but are now willing to sell him for a bargain fee.
While Julian Nagelsmann’s side are working to get a deal over the line for the star, it remains to be seen if the Emirates Stadium outfit and their London rivals will step up their interest in Sabitzer.
Arsenal shelve transfer plans for highly-rated Sassuolo youngster
Arsenal have reportedly stopped working on a deal to land Manuel Locatelli from Sassuolo, with Juventus still leading the race for the midfielder.
The Gunners are interested in bolstering their options before the transfer window slams shut later in August and are keen on Leicester City’s attacking midfielder James Maddison.
The club have been chasing Italy international Manuel and working hard to try to take the 23-year-old star to north London.
However, according to Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the English giants have now completely stopped working on a summer deal.
Arsenal appear to have given up on the idea of landing Locatelli from the Neroverdi this summer and are chasing other players.
The Bianconeri are in pole position to sign him and it is claimed that when they loan centre-half Merih Demiral to Atalanta then the side could have extra cash to throw into the deal.
Manuel made 34 appearances in Serie A for his team last season and has a further two years left to run on his deal at the Mapei Stadium.
He played an important role in helping Italy to win UEFA Euro 2020 earlier this summer, shining on the international stage.
Towering Watford number one drawing attention from Arsenal
Arsenal are reportedly showing an interest in goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann, with Watford interested in retaining their goalkeeper for the campaign ahead.
In any case, the club have placed a £15 million tag on the Austrian star to ward off interest from the Gunners, according to The Sun.
He was an important member of this Hornets side that gained automatic promotion to the English top-flight, Premier League.
Daniel kept 13 clean sheets to help his team finish 2nd in the EFL Championship, while boss Xisco considers him a key player in his squad.
However, if the Gunners are serious in their interest, there could be little to stop the star from joining the North Londoners.
Watford also dodged interest in the player earlier in the summer transfer market, when West Ham United knocked on their doors. The Irons have since signed Paris Saint-Germain stopper Alphonse Areola on loan.
Daniel could be a fallback option to Aaron Ramsdale, who remains the Gunners’ primary target. The Sheffield United board have refused to budge on their valuation for the star.
Mikel Arteta’s side could lodge a new offer in the coming days for the England international to test the Blades’ resolve.
If a total agreement cannot be reached with them, Arsenal might turn their attention towards other targets, such as Bachmann.
