Arsenal must act fast to secure the signature of Leicester City midfielder, James Maddison as two legends- Thiery Henry and Gary Neville of Arsenal and Man United have said the same thing about him.
The midfielder is on tbe wish list of manager Mikel Arteta as he looks to bloster his team ahead of next season’s challenge.
A major issue to landing him, aside the fee is the fact that player does not seek to leave the club while Leicester City are also not willing to let him go.
However, the two legends have spoken positively of James Maddison and it could be the right time for Arsenal to land him.
Arsenal legend Henry has heaped praise on Maddison and encouraged the Leicester midfielder to have a “big ego”.
Talking in an Instagram session for Puma live, Henry said: “Keep on doing what you’re doing because I love the way you’re playing. I like to watch players like you. (Players) that think.
“Thinking is important in the game and there’s one thing we don’t use often, which is our brain. Don’t be scared of having a big ego.”
Meanwhile, Manchester United legend Neville has given Maddison similar advice when speaking to Sky Sports.
“We’re quick to mention players like Maddison being cocky,” Neville said.
“We used to say it about players like Joe Cole and Matt Le Tissier. Eric Cantona obviously was seen as an arrogant and cocky player. Jack Grealish has had it as well and there’s a stigma attached to some players.
“But actually that’s why they are the players they are. They’ve got flair, ability, they want to look good and look the part.
“They’re brilliant to watch and he [Maddison] is a fantastic player and I’m sure Leicester will be working very hard to make sure they hang on to him.”
